Gainesville Coins of Lutz Florida in Multiple Copyright Infringement (x34)

Copyright Abuse

We have invested many thousands of pounds , and many man hours taking high quality photographs of coins, and other numismatic items. We get annoyed when other dealers, competitors, use these to promote and further their own business without asking or obtaining a license from us. We call it copyright theft, and we question the honesty, integrity, and professionalism of coin and bullion dealers who plagiarise our hard work by using our images.

Legal Notice

We recently wrote to and e-mailed Gainesville Coins to put them on notice to remove all the relevant photographs, and to comply with a list of Solemn Undertakings, not to abuse our copyright in future, and to and to pay us a substantial amount of compensation. We asked for $10,000 per image, totalling $340,000 USD. Actually, we made a mistake, as we intended to demand $15,000 (approximately £10,000) each, totalling $510,000. So far, they appeared to have ignored us, as to date, our images are still in evidence on their site. We also warned them that we would instruct our solicitors (laywers) to take court action against them, and that we would hold them responsible for our legal costs. Watch this space!
