Copyright Theft
Perhaps we should be flattered by the number of people including dealers who continually infringe our IP (Intellectual Property) rights by using our copyright images, but we do not find it amusing, and will take legal action against any copyright thieves.
GainesvilleCoins.com
Gainesville Coins is just one of the many coin dealers, bloggers & websites worldwide who commit copyright theft by using our copyright images without our permission. On their website, a page of which we reproduce here, they are clearly using our 1899 Russian 5 Roubles Gold Coin photograph.

The history of Russia can be broadly separated into several distinct periods that each had its own currency standard. Different Russian gold coins were minted during Czarist Russia, the Socialist Federal Soviet Republic, the U.S.S.R, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Perhaps the most prevalent Russian gold coin were those issued between 1977 and 1980 for the 22nd Olympic games. Gold coins from Czarist Russia are also popular with collectors and investors. These include the .900 fine 10 Roubles Gold Coin which contains .2489 troy ounces of gold and the .900 fine 5 Roubles Gold Coin which contains .1245 troy ounces of gold
What’s Wrong?
It is dishonest and unethical to pirate and steal other people’s work by using high quality copyright photographs without the owner’s consent. We can partially understand why they do it; it is quick and easy (but then so is robbing people).
