Copyright Theft

Perhaps we should be flattered by the number of people including dealers who continually infringe our IP (Intellectual Property) rights by using our copyright images, but we do not find it amusing, and will take legal action against any copyright thieves.

gainesvillecoins.com

Gainesville Coins is just one of the many coin dealers, bloggers & websites worldwide who commit copyright theft by using our copyright images without our permission. They have repeatedly used different images, without permission. On their website, a page of which we reproduce here, they are clearly using our 1965 Peru 50 Soles gold coin photographs.

They have added text over the images to claim them as their own. This is totally dishonest and misleading.

The Peru 50 Soles gold coin is an historic and popular choice with collectors. Issued from 1950 to 1970 and made of .6772 oz of gold, these 28mm coins come in random dates of our choice, and are based on in-stock inventory. Stock photo for reference only.

What’s Wrong?

It is dishonest and unethical to pirate and steal other people’s work by using high quality copyright photographs without the owner’s consent. We can partially understand why they do it; it is quick and easy (but then so is robbing people).
